The Vibe: Sunset Shades, Disco & Dopamine Styling

Chrissie describes her everyday look as colorful, dopamine-led dressing, and she knew from day one that she wanted to feel like herself on her wedding day, not just a generic. trad bride.

“I had colourful shoes and bag, and a beautiful colourful sequined veil. I had glam, blow-out super long hair, and a gorgeous soft glam makeup look with pinks to match the theme and make my green eyes pop.” — Chrissie

The colour palette was a glowing sunset dream filled with bright oranges and warm pinks, perfectly matching her bridesmaids and her mum, who walked her down the aisle. Her stunning dress was sourced from the iconic Flamingo Boulevard Bridal Studio, complemented by colorful Paradox shoes, a matching bag, and a breathtaking sequined veil by Kit and the Bobbin.

Environmental impact was also a huge priority for the couple. They crafted an eco-conscious day featuring thrifted decor, dried floral arrangements by Horseshoe Flowers, reusable pieces, dried floral accents, personalized sketch favours, and a mouth-watering, fully vegetarian menu catered by Fig and the Wild.

Quirky & Personal Touches

Every moment of Chrissie and Hamish’s wedding reflected who they are as a couple:

  • Swiftie Friendship Bracelets: Chrissie hand-crafted over 90 custom friendship bracelets as place settings, color-coded with personal meanings for each guest (including football team colors, flag palettes, and country-of-origin tones).
  • Buckfast & Ring Blessings: During the ceremony, they passed their wedding rings through the guest seating for a collective ring blessing. To honor Hamish’s Scottish heritage, and his love for a good rave, they partook in a traditional quaich cup ritual, filled to the brim with Buckfast!
  • A “VP of Organised Fun”: Following dinner, a close friend took on the title of “VP of Organised Fun” to lead a chaotic game of pass the parcel. Prizes included local Liverpool icons: Superlambananas, Toxteth chocolates, a copy of The Communist Manifesto, and Greggs gift vouchers for next-morning recovery.
  • Custom Dog Accents: Their pup featured on custom napkin illustrations drawn by bridesmaid Holly, alongside cut-outs placed throughout the space.

The Morning Prep: Vegan Beauty & Girlhood Magic

The morning set the tone for the entire day. It was a relaxed, joyful “hug of girlhood” filled with laughter, singing, and deep chats ranging from hair products to politics.

As a vegan-friendly hair and makeup artist, alignment on ethical beauty was essential for Chrissie.

“I love that Vicky only uses vegan and cruelty-free makeup as this is so important to me. The trial was fantastic… she experimented, listened to me, and showed her expertise. I had no notes from trial to the day, it was flawless!” — Chrissie

Chrissie’s Top Tip for Nearly-Weds

“Even makeup as wonderful as Vicky’s needs a solid base to really shine! In the lead-up to the big day, try to sleep well, drink water, do good skincare (though don’t try anything too new too close to the date), and make sure you’re glowing from the inside out.” — Chrissie
