As a pro makeup artist of 20+ years, I have tried and tested many different products. And I am often asked what products are my favourites. Because I only use cruelty-free makeup that is also vegan-friendly, you won’t find the likes of MAC, Chanel, Lancome, or many department store staples in my kit. In today’s blog, I am sharing with you my top 3 foundations, but you’ve probably never heard of them! These foundations are staple products in my makeup kit when it comes to Liverpool wedding makeup, and I have used them on hundreds of people!

Face Atelier Ultra Foundation PRO

Liverpool Makeup Artist - Wedding Makeup Artist - Vegan Beauty - GLAMORAMA MAKEUP

Face Atelier Ultra Foundation PRO was created by makeup artists for makeup artists. It is a highly pigmented formula with a buildable coverage and satin finish. A little goes a long way. You do not require a primer, or even a setting powder as it is self setting and waterproof. It is designed to withstand the heat of professional lighting, so really is bulletproof for long events. It is my favourite foundation by far because it suits every skin type, texture, and comes in a huge shade range. I use this on 99% of my wedding makeups!

RCMA

RCMA cream foundation is a cult product used by all of the top pro MUAs. It has been around for over 50 years! They are super pigmented, wax based (I know it sounds weird, but it is an amazing formula!), and can be sheered out with moisturiser, or layered on the skin for a full camouflage coverage. RCMA foundation is the most versatile product in my kit, and doubles up as a concealer. It is suitable for all skin types. I would recommend using a primer if you have a lot of texture or dryness, and you definitely want to use a setting powder with this cream formulation. The results are flawless and incredibly long-wearing.

Catrice True Skin

This is a personal favourite of mine. Whenever I wear this foundation, I get compliments on how good my skin looks. My skin, not my makeup! It has a beautiful natural radiance, and it wears well all day long. It is an absolute BARGAIN!!!! If you are a fan of Armani or Chanel luminous foundations, give this stunning cruelty-free and vegan foundation a go. You won’t regret it, and the little bunnies and guinea pigs will thank you for swerving the animal-tested products.

Do we have a match?

“What is the best way to match your foundation?” I hear you ask. Well, I’m glad you asked! You want your face to match your body. My best advice is to match to your decolletage (your chest area), especially if you are wearing a low cut or strapless situation. Please be sure to BLEND your foundation right down your jawline and neck. Also, take note when watching television how many people have a totally different colour face to neck to body situation happening. It’s really not cute! Once you see it, you can’t unsee it hahahaha!
