As a busy mother and business owner, time is short most days! Yet as a makeup artist, I need to always put my best face forward. This Five Minute Face is about looking polished, put together, and more awake! It is not a going out makeup, it is for those mornings when you are rushing around trying to get out the door for the school run, work, university, or whatever is demanding your time on that particular day. As always, I am using cruelty free products. The colours I have recommended are shades that I know work for me, you probably have go-to shades that you use again and again and those can be happily swapped in. If you have any questions about shade choices, drop them in the comments!

Skin prep

Use your favourite moisturiser and eye cream. I also use a lip balm everyday, especially in winter when lips get dry

Base

I use a tinted moisturiser as an everyday base. This one is Beauty Pie Super Healthy Sheer Tint Oil Free SPF 20. I apply with my fingers, really blending into my skin. I follow with The Unbeatable Concealer by Beauty Pie. I tap this under my eyes with my ring finger, and apply a little on my eyelids as a base for my shadow. I also cover any blemishes that may still be visible.

Brows

Glossier Boy Brow is an amazing product for grooming brows, making them look thicker and more defined. It is super easy to use, just brush it through your brows and you’re good to go. Pro-tip – keep your brows maintained with waxing and tinting to save time in the morning.

Eyes

Choose an eye shadow that makes your eyes stand out and that works with most of your wardrobe. I love Tarte Metallic Eye Shadow in Exposed, it is a bronze-pink shimmer that is flattering on me. I apply this all over the lid and blend slightly above the crease, and then I sweep a little bit along my lower lash line. I then define my eyes with Charlotte Tilbury Rock and Kohl Pencil in Barbarella Brown. Finish off with your choice of mascara, I love Glossier Lash Slick. It is a tubing mascara that doesn’t irritate my eyes, and it builds up incredible length without clumping.

Cheeks

I love cream or liquid blushers, and I use Glossier Cloud Paint in Puff to brighten my face. I dab on the apples of my cheeks with my fingers and blend with a Real Techniques brush. I create a quick, subtle contour by using Zoeva Nude Blusher palette under my cheek bones and jaw line.

Lips

If you have time, line those lips! But if not, a quick swipe of your favourite lippy or gloss will do. I use Sugarpill Liquid Lipstick in Trinket a lot, it is a soft pink with subtle gold shimmer.

Setting

If you’d like to, you can give your face a quick dusting of powder to set everything and keep shine at bay. I am using Tarte Filtered Light Setting Powder.

I hope you have enjoyed the video and that it gives you some inspiration for your morning routine. I would suggest gathering your everyday makeup products and brushes together in one place, ideally a box or some kind of open organiser. This way everything is to hand and it just speeds things up a little more. If you are interested in joining Beauty Pie, you can get your first month for free by clicking here! (affiiate link)
